Fixed as Thieves

Today I mucked around for 5 minutes with my Malvy Frame and my Road Bike Wheels. The drop outs on the Malvy Frame aren’t wide enough to fit my Road Bike wheels. Which got me thinking and planning!!
I need to research, then purchase all my bits first. Wheels, Bars, Stems, Necks, Cogs, Cranks you name it. Because I think there will be more than just a bit of angle grinding, filing etc to go on to make everything fit!

Then when everything is in, and only then… will I dismantle the new bits carefully, take the frame to the powder coater and ask for the reformation to be done.
Otherwise I will be sitting unhappily grinding a newly painted frame… That would be a Bummer.

25th October 2009, A day that will go down in the annals of “Fixie Project” as Day 1.

Local School fete yields one old shitty Malvern Star Road Bike, SL Sports, not a very special one by purists standards, but pretty special by me. The cost…. $10!!!

Check the photos. I started hacking in to it, and stripping it back, starting to look good already!

C’mon lads, start combing those garage sales, hard rubbish days etc.

Ay oh, Lets Go.
